The Lloseta Town Council denounces the failure to meet deadlines by the Conselleria d'Educació, which was supposed to tender the nursery before June 30 without it happening. They also demand the secondary school and improvements at CEIP Es Puig.

The Lloseta Town Council has raised its tone against the Conselleria d'Educació of the Balearic Government. The governing team, formed by PSOE-Més-Ara Sí, denounces that the deadlines for the construction of the municipality's first public nursery have been missed without explanation.

According to the council, in the last meeting with the Conselleria, it was agreed that the tender for the nursery for 0 to 3 years would be published before June 30, 2025. However, they claim they have not received any communication regarding the status of the procedure. "We have submitted information requests without receiving a response, which has forced us to resort to parliamentary questions," lament municipal sources.

A long-awaited nursery

The project, declared of regional interest in July 2025, exceeds two million euros. It includes the demolition of the old gymnasium of Es Puig to build the new nursery on the same site. It will be the first public school for 0 to 3 years in Lloseta, a service that families lack and which the Town Council attempted to tender on two previous occasions unsuccessfully due to the high cost.

"The families of Lloseta need certainties, planning, and fulfilled commitments," underline the local government. The mayor and her team have stood in front of the old gymnasium, a symbol of a promise still unfulfilled.

Secondary school and improvements at Es Puig: other pending issues

In addition to the nursery, the Town Council demands the urgent execution of the improvements committed to at CEIP Es Puig, announced almost three years ago and still not carried out. "These are necessary actions to ensure decent facilities for the entire educational community," states the municipal statement.

In parallel, they demand transparency regarding the future Secondary Education Institute (IES) of Lloseta. The council has proposed new land for its construction and asks the Conselleria to provide clear and regular updates on the processing. "Lloseta does not need more promises; it needs actions," they conclude.

The Education Department reaffirms its commitment to the educational community and announces that it will continue to work in coordination with families and schools. Collaboration between administrations, they assert, is key to advancing towards quality public education.

For now, the residents of Lloseta continue to wait for announcements to become realities. The next step, if there is no response, could be a citizen mobilization. The Town Council does not rule out new actions to ensure the Conselleria keeps its word.
