The athlete from Felanitx, Alex Justín Durán, and Es Raiguer's Amelia Álvarez triumphed at the XVIII Milla Ciutat de Manacor, setting new records for the men's and women's categories.

The XVIII edition of the Milla Ciutat de Manacor, organised by C.A. Manacor and the Manacor Town Hall, concluded with two historic marks. The Felanitx athlete Alex Justín Durán, from the Atlas club, and Amelia Álvarez, from Es Raiguer, were crowned overall winners and established respective records for the event.

In the men's category, Alex Durán dominated from start to finish, stopping the clock at 4:17.9, lowering the previous record by more than two seconds, which was at 4:20. For this achievement, the middle-distance runner pocketed a prize of €200. The second place went to Jaume Rius, with a time of 4:21.9, while young mountaineer Joan Barceló, from the under-18 category, completed the podium with 4:38.4. Dani Espada (Atlas) finished fourth with 4:41.6, and Antonio Abrines (Speed Club) rounded out the top five with 5:04.7.

In the women's race, Amelia Álvarez left no chance for her competitors and crossed the finish line with a time that also set a new record for the Milla Ciutat de Manacor. The Es Raiguer athlete earned an additional €150 for breaking the record. The second place went to Catalina García (Total Team), with 6:04.5, and Joana Pascual took the third spot on the podium with 6:11.9. Agnès Lozano (6:14.6) and Mara Sáez (6:32.7) completed the top five positions. Notably, the under-18 Claudia Van Boven (Pegasus) achieved a time of 6:04.0, which was the second-best women's time of the day.

The Milla Ciutat de Manacor, which is contested over a distance of one mile (1,609 metres), brought together dozens of popular athletes in a festive atmosphere. The president of C.A. Manacor, Tomás Pomar, highlighted the high level of competition and thanked the collaboration of the Manacor Town Hall. For local runners, the event is an unmissable date in the athletic calendar of the Llevant region, and this year it has left two records that will be hard to surpass in future editions.
