The Andratx Town Hall has completed the resurfacing of Mestre Bartomeu Esteva street and adds an extra 250,000 euros to the municipal plan, which will allow for new road works in the municipality.

The Andratx Town Hall has finished the renewal of the pavement on Mestre Bartomeu Esteva street, one of the busiest access roads to the urban centre. The work, which has already been completed, includes the painting of horizontal signage, scheduled for the coming days.

At the same time, the Council has announced an increase of 250,000 euros in the budget allocated to the municipal resurfacing plan. This financial boost will allow for continued improvements on other streets in the municipality, according to municipal sources.

The mayor, Estefanía Gonzalvo, emphasised that “the completion of the resurfacing of Mestre Bartomeu Esteva street represents a very important action as it is one of the main entrances to the municipality.” With the new funding, she added, “we will be able to continue executing new actions to keep improving the road network of Andratx.”

The municipal resurfacing plan is being carried out progressively in different areas of the municipality. The goal, according to the governing team, is to improve the condition of the pavement and provide safer and more comfortable roads for both residents and visitors.

Mestre Bartomeu Esteva street, which experiences a high daily traffic intensity, has seen its pavement completely renewed. The work has included milling the old pavement and laying a new layer of asphalt, which improves grip and reduces rolling noise.

With the budget increase, the Town Hall plans to act on several streets that still have deteriorated pavement. Although a specific schedule has not been detailed, the Council assures that upcoming interventions will be communicated in advance to the affected residents.

This investment adds to what has already been executed in previous years within the resurfacing plan, which the governing team considers a priority for road safety and sustainable mobility. The mayor has reiterated the Town Hall's commitment to maintaining road infrastructures.

The residents of Andratx have positively assessed the work on Mestre Bartomeu Esteva street, although some are calling for it to be extended to other areas of the municipality, especially in the areas of s'Arracó and Port d'Andratx. The Council has indicated that the new budget will allow these demands to be addressed progressively.

The horizontal signage, which includes road markings and pedestrian crossings, will be painted in the coming days, weather permitting. With this, the work will be completely finished, according to municipal sources.
