The tenth edition of Conecta Fiction & Entertainment, held for the first time in Mallorca, brought together 276 companies and 415 professionals from 32 countries in Calvià, solidifying Magaluf as an international meeting point for the audiovisual sector.

Calvià has become the global epicentre of the audiovisual industry for four days thanks to the tenth edition of Conecta Fiction & Entertainment, the market that is being held in Mallorca for the first time and has gathered 276 companies and 415 professionals from 32 countries.

The event, which took place at the Meliá Calvià Beach in Magaluf, featured the presence of industry giants such as Warner Bros. Discovery, YouTube, RTVE, SkyShowtime, Prime Video, France TV, Fremantle, Banijay, TelevisaUnivision, and ZDF, reinforcing the international dimension of a gathering that aims to connect Europe and America.

During the event, 46 professional activities were held, including workshops, conferences, pitch sessions, debates, and networking meetings, allowing attendees to explore new business and co-production opportunities.

The organisation highlighted the high participation of local professionals: 119 from the Balearic Islands, who had the opportunity to connect with international agents to promote audiovisual projects. According to data provided by the organisation, 90.4% of attendees stayed for the entire event.

One of the attractions of the market was the opportunity to discover different locations in Calvià and Mallorca used in audiovisual productions. This activity helped promote the municipality as a filming location, combining professional tourism with the natural and cultural heritage of the island.

The organisation emphasised the legacy of Conecta through the 'Born in Conecta' label, under which 35 series and films have already been created from contacts and agreements generated in previous editions of the audiovisual market.

With this balance, Calvià strengthens its strategy for tourism diversification and bets on attracting international events linked to innovation, knowledge, and the generation of economic opportunities and qualified employment. The success of this edition consolidates Magaluf as an international meeting point for the sector, as well as boosting Calvià's projection as a filming and congress tourism destination.

For the residents of Calvià and the rest of Mallorca, hosting an event of this magnitude represents an opportunity to position the island on the global audiovisual map, attracting investments and professionals that can generate economic activity beyond the traditional tourist season. The Calvià City Council and the Balearic Government have shown their support for this initiative, which aligns with the strategy to promote the island as a destination for film and series.

The next edition of Conecta Fiction & Entertainment is already shaping up to be a key date in the audiovisual calendar, with the intention of returning to Mallorca and continuing to strengthen ties between the European and American sectors.
