The Palma City Council has given the initial green light to the urbanisation project for the Camí de So na Dolça, an action that will completely transform this road in the municipality. The Governing Board approved the plan last Wednesday, which includes an investment of €320,700 (VAT included) and an execution period of 12 weeks.
The works will focus on the stretch between the Camí de So na Dolça itself and Calle Alfàbia, covering an approximate area of 1,200 square metres. The aim is to complete the urbanisation of the area, which currently lacks the necessary basic services.
According to the council, the intervention will include the construction of a new roadway, the continuity of existing sidewalks, and the provision of all basic municipal services. This is a comprehensive renewal that seeks to adapt the road to current accessibility regulations.
Improvements in Mobility and Safety
The project also includes the organisation of internal mobility and parking, as well as the undergrounding of aerial installations that currently fly over the area. This measure will improve safety and the aesthetics of the environment, according to municipal sources.
Additionally, all necessary infrastructures will be renewed to provide a modern and functional urbanisation. Among these, the installation of a new stormwater drainage network, public lighting, and the renewal and expansion of the drinking water supply and sewage network stand out.
Telecommunications pre-installation, a fire-fighting network, landscaping works, new road signage, and the placement of urban furniture are also planned. All this aims to offer a higher quality public space for the residents of the area.
Commitment to the Neighbourhoods of Palma
This action is part of the government team's commitment to continue improving the neighbourhoods of Palma through the renewal of urban infrastructures. The council emphasises that it aims to ensure more accessible, safe public spaces that meet the needs of citizens.
