The street of Malferits has won the first prize of the Decoration Contest of the Sopar a la Fresca in Inca, worth 300 euros. The XVII edition, held on 24 July, brought together thousands of local residents.
The street of Malferits has been the big winner of the Decoration Contest of the Sopar a la Fresca in Inca, in its XVII edition. This street achieved the first prize, worth 300 euros, in a competition that awarded a total of seven streets in the municipality for their decoration.
The awards ceremony took place on 30 July at the Plaza de Mallorca, at 21:30, in an event that marked the end of the patronal festivities of Sant Abdon and Sant Senén 2026. The awarded streets received their cash prizes according to their ranking.
The second prize, of 250 euros, went to the street of la Font; the third, of 200 euros, to the promenade of Llebeig; the fourth, of 175 euros, to the street of Josep Maria Sert; the fifth, of 150 euros, to the street of Sant Sebastià; the sixth, of 125 euros, to the street of Martí Metge; and the seventh, of 100 euros, to the street of Sant Bartomeu.
This year's theme, “Bring summer to your street,” led to a great variety of proposals. The local residents filled the streets of Inca with paper flowers, summer fruits like watermelons, a pool party, hats, and Mediterranean-style garlands with blue and white tiles, among other elements.
The Sopar a la Fresca, held on 24 July, gathered thousands of people for a night of community togetherness. As every year, the Inca Town Hall distributed watermelon and ensaïmades for each table, an initiative aimed at promoting citizen participation and supporting local products.
