The company Adelte, responsible for assisting people with reduced mobility (PRM) at Palma Airport, is once again under scrutiny. A mother from Menorca, Júlia Allès, has publicly denounced the treatment received last Thursday when she had to carry her 34-kilo son off the plane because the assistance service did not show up.
A wait that nearly cost a medical appointment
Allès was travelling with her disabled son to attend a medical appointment at Son Espases hospital. The flight, scheduled for early morning, was delayed due to fog and did not take off until 9:15 am. "We were almost late for the appointment," the mother explained.
Upon landing at Son Sant Joan, the flight attendants instructed them to wait for assistance. After more than fifteen minutes without news, the woman inquired and was informed that the service had been cancelled. "I couldn't waste any more time. I carried my son in my arms and, upon exiting, we encountered the assistance. They arrived just in time," she recounted.
"I had the appointment at 9:40 at the hospital and it was already around 10. I couldn't waste any more time"
Ultimately, instead of the adapted vehicle, they were accompanied by a van with a rear lift, but the damage was already done: they arrived an hour late for the appointment.
