The team managed by Adrián Hernández faces the Almeriense side this Saturday at 20:00 in El Rubial, in the IV Alfonso García Zapata Memorial, following their historic promotion to Primera Federación.

Águilas FC kicks off its pre-season this Saturday with a high-voltage match. The blue-and-white team, which achieved promotion to Primera Federación on May 31 in Sa Pobla, hosts UD Almería at the Estadio Centenario El Rubial starting at 20:00. The match, part of the IV Alfonso García Zapata Memorial, will also serve as the official presentation of the squad to their fans.

The Memorial pays tribute to Alfonso García Zapata, father of the current president of Águilas FC, Alfonso García Gabarrón, a figure closely linked to Almeriense football and the club itself. The match comes at a very early stage of summer preparation. Águilas will have barely completed a week of training, so the result will take a back seat. The main objective will be to start gaining competitive rhythm, continue assimilating the concepts from the coaching staff, and give the first minutes to a squad with numerous new faces.

One of the main attractions of the evening will be the possible debut of Dani Merchán, the latest addition to the blue-and-white team, who could wear the Águilas shirt for the first time in front of his new fans. Opposing them will be a UD Almería that is once again among the candidates for promotion to Primera División. The red-and-white team narrowly missed their goal last season after reaching the promotion playoff, where they fell to Málaga. For the Almeriense side, this will also be their first test of the summer, although their squad features top-level players with extensive experience in professional football, such as Sergio Arribas and Adri Embarba.

The atmosphere in El Rubial will be one of great occasions. In addition to the excitement of seeing the team at home again after the promotion, the club expects a significant turnout of fans from both Águilas and Almería, aided by the proximity of the two cities. Tickets will be priced at 10 euros for adults and 5 euros for children. Beyond the result, the match will allow both coaches to draw initial conclusions from the pre-season and will mark the starting point of an exciting campaign for Águilas FC, which faces the challenge of consolidating itself in Primera Federación after the greatest sporting success in its recent history.
