Argentine coach Lionel Scaloni chose Bunyola, a small municipality in the Serra de Tramuntana, to settle permanently. There, surrounded by mountains and with views of the Mediterranean, the coach has found the balance between the demands of international football and family life.
The property, in a modern style, features a turquoise swimming pool, a large garden, a covered gallery, and a private gym. Large windows take advantage of natural light and offer views of the mountains, a setting that Scaloni uses to practice one of his great passions: cycling on mountain roads.
The coach's connection with Mallorca dates back to 2008, when he was still a footballer playing for the island's club. There he met Elisa Montero, a native of Mallorca, during a team dinner at a restaurant she had attended with her volleyball teammates. According to Scaloni himself in his official biography, the attraction was immediate.
After retiring as a player in 2015, the couple decided to settle permanently on the island to prioritise family privacy. Elisa Montero, who maintains a low profile, previously worked at the family business Olivetti and at the clothing company Zara. Her public presence is limited to occasional events, focusing on raising their children, Ian and Noah.
The residence in Bunyola allows Scaloni to maintain a tranquil routine, away from the media spotlight. Proximity to Palma facilitates his travels to fulfil commitments with the Argentine National Team, which he has been coaching since 2018. The natural surroundings of the Serra de Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage Site, are the usual backdrop for his cycling outings.
