The tenth edition of Conecta Magaluf-Mallorca brought together 415 professionals from 32 countries and 276 companies in the audiovisual sector. The event, held at the Meliá Calvià Beach hotel, reinforces Calvià's positioning as a destination for filming and conferences.

The audiovisual market Conecta Magaluf-Mallorca has closed its tenth edition with historic figures. Over four days, at the end of May, the municipality of Calvià became the epicentre of the international audiovisual industry, with the attendance of 415 professionals from 32 countries and 276 companies in the sector.

Among the participants were representatives from giants such as Warner Bros. Discovery, Prime Video, RTVE, YouTube, and SkyShowtime. The event, organised at the Meliá Calvià Beach hotel, combined business meetings, workshops, conferences, and pitch sessions for the presentation of audiovisual projects.

The event is part of the municipality's strategy to diversify its tourist offer and attract professional events outside the high season. Calvià's Councillor for Tourism, María Pérez, highlighted that "Conecta Magaluf consolidates Calvià as a global reference in the audiovisual industry and generates a very significant economic and promotional impact."

One of the greatest benefits of the meeting has been the promotion of Calvià as a film and television set. Professionals took guided tours of different areas of Mallorca to discover suitable locations for future shoots. According to sources from the Calvià City Council, this initiative has already borne fruit: 35 series and films have emerged from agreements signed in previous editions under the 'Born in Conecta' label.

Local participation was notable: 119 professionals from the Balearic Islands took part in the sessions, facilitating direct contact between regional companies and top executives from international platforms. 35.2% of attendees were international professionals from countries such as the United States, France, Germany, or Mexico.

A total of 46 professional activities were scheduled, with an attendee retention rate of over 90%. This figure reflects the high interest and quality of the content offered. The Mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual, stated that "the commitment to the knowledge economy and innovation is key to the municipality's future."

For the residents of Calvià, Conecta Magaluf represents an opportunity for qualified employment and a boost to the local economy. Hotels, restaurants, and services in the area benefit from the arrival of high-income professionals during a traditionally low tourist influx period. Furthermore, the international projection of the municipality as a filming location can attract investments and generate stable jobs in the audiovisual sector.

The audiovisual market has also served to strengthen the 'Magaluf' brand as a conference destination, moving away from its historical image of sun and beach tourism. The commitment to diversifying tourism is one of the municipality's priorities, seeking events that generate qualified employment and wealth throughout the year.

The tenth edition of Conecta Magaluf-Mallorca leaves a very positive balance, according to the organisers. Expectations for future editions are high, and work is already underway for the next event, scheduled for May 2027. Those interested in participating can check the event's website for more information on dates and registration deadlines.
