The tenth edition of Conecta Magaluf, held in May, brought together 415 professionals from 32 countries and 276 companies, consolidating Calvià as a destination for congress tourism and an audiovisual hub.

The tenth edition of Conecta Magaluf, held at the end of May in Calvià, has provided a significant boost for the municipality in terms of international projection and economic return. Over four days, the event gathered 415 accredited professionals from 32 countries, representing 276 leading companies in the audiovisual sector, including Warner Bros. Discovery, YouTube, RTVE, SkyShowtime, Prime Video, France TV, Fremantle, Banijay, TelevisaUnivision, and ZDF.

The event, which took place for the first time in Mallorca, was primarily held at the Meliá Calvià Beach hotel, which hosted workshops, conferences, pitch sessions, business meetings, and award ceremonies. The programme included 46 professional activities, and 90.4% of participants stayed for the entire duration of the event, according to the organisers' data.

One of the main returns for Calvià has been the promotion as a filming location and destination for audiovisual tourism. Attendees participated in organised tours around the municipality and other locations in Mallorca to discover sites used in film and television productions, combining the exploration of natural and cultural heritage with the establishment of new professional relationships.

The international dimension of the event is reflected in the participants' origins: 35.2% of the accredited professionals were international, with a notable presence from France, the United States, Portugal, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Mexico. This consolidates Conecta as a bridge between Europe and America for the development of new audiovisual projects.

Furthermore, the event strengthened the audiovisual ecosystem of the Balearic Islands. A total of 119 professionals from the Islands participated in the event, facilitating direct contact between local companies and the main international players in the sector, which has opened new business, co-production, and investment opportunities.

The organisation also highlights the legacy left by this first edition in Calvià. Conecta maintains the 'Born in Conecta' label, under which 35 series and films have already been created thanks to the contacts and agreements reached during the market. This precedent places Calvià on the global map of the audiovisual industry and reinforces its strategy for tourism diversification.

For the municipality, Conecta Magaluf represents a further step in the commitment to a tourism model based on innovation and attracting high-impact international events, using audiovisual as a tool for promoting the territory and as a driver for generating economic opportunities and qualified employment. The event has demonstrated its ability to generate economic activity outside of the high season, one of Calvià's strategic objectives.

With this assessment, the Calvià City Council plans to repeat the experience and establish the event in the annual calendar, aiming to attract new productions and strengthen the local business fabric linked to the audiovisual sector.
