The Ministry of Education and Universities will invest €2,065,609 in improving the educational infrastructure of Alcúdia through an agreement with the Town Hall and the Municipal Services Company of Alcúdia (EMSA).
The Governing Council has authorised the processing of multi-year expenditure that will allow for a wide range of actions in five public schools in the municipality of Alcúdia. The total investment amounts to €2,065,609 and is part of a collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Education and Universities, the Town Hall of Alcúdia, and the Municipal Services Company of Alcúdia (EMSA).
The initiative aims to adapt educational facilities to the increasing school demand and improve the conditions of the centres with actions focused on accessibility, energy efficiency, safety, and modernisation of spaces. The works will be carried out at CEIP S'Albufera, S'Hort des Fassers, Norai, Porta des Moll, and Puig de Sant Martí.
Among the planned actions are the renovation of dining rooms and kitchens, the renewal of playgrounds and parks, the replacement of flooring and roofs, improvements in heating and air conditioning systems, the renewal of enclosures, and the removal of architectural barriers. At CEIP S'Albufera, the installation of an external lift stands out, in addition to the renovation of the dining room and kitchen, the renewal of the playground, and various actions to improve accessibility.
At S'Hort des Fassers, the outdoor spaces, play areas, and roofs will be renewed. CEIP Norai will undergo a renovation of the playgrounds, incorporate an aerothermal system, and see its flooring renewed, along with other improvements related to energy efficiency and safety.
Meanwhile, at CEIP Porta des Moll, the gym will be renovated, the bathrooms will be rehabilitated, and the interior and exterior flooring will be renewed, along with improvements in air conditioning and enclosures. At CEIP Puig de Sant Martí, new protective elements will be installed around the perimeter of the premises.
According to the agreement, the Town Hall of Alcúdia, through EMSA, will take on the drafting of the projects, the bidding, contracting, and execution of the works, while the Ministry will finance the actions up to a maximum amount of €2.06 million. The agreement will be in effect until December 31, 2028, and the investment will be distributed between the years 2027 and 2028. In the first year, €458,505 will be allocated, and in the second, €1.61 million.
These improvements will provide a direct benefit to families and students in Alcúdia, who will have access to more modern, accessible, and efficient facilities. The educational community has received the news with satisfaction, as it responds to a long-standing demand for the renovation of the centres.
