A worker at a clothing store in the Palma neighbourhood of Pere Garau suffered a brutal assault when she discovered a couple stealing. The man kicked her in the head and the woman sprayed her face with disinfectant. Both have been arrested by the National Police.
The events occurred last Monday evening in a clothing store in the Pere Garau neighbourhood of Palma. An employee of the establishment caught a man and a woman attempting to steal seven items from the store. When she confronted them, the couple reacted violently.
According to police sources, the attacker kicked the employee in the head, while his accomplice sprayed her face with a disinfectant liquid. The victim, who was injured, had to be treated at a hospital, although the severity of her injuries has not been disclosed.
The intervention of key witnesses
As the man was about to flee the premises, several witnesses managed to detain him and alerted the National Police. A patrol from the Citizen Attention Group (GAC) quickly arrived at the scene. The witnesses also informed the officers of the direction the woman had taken, who had escaped from the store.
The police located the suspect within minutes and detained her. They then arrested both for an alleged crime of robbery with violence. During the intervention, the officers recovered the seven items the couple intended to steal, which were returned to the store.
The employee treated at the hospital
The affected worker received medical assistance at a hospital to treat the injuries caused by the assault. The National Police have opened an investigation to clarify the events and determine if the couple is linked to other similar robberies in the area.
