The event, which will take place from 28 July to 20 August, will feature concerts by Erik Truffaz, China Moses and Lucía Rey, as well as the Jazzdara cycle and parallel activities. Journalist Ferran Pereyra will receive the festival award.
The 32nd edition of the Mallorca Jazz sa Pobla Festival, which will be held from 28 July to 20 August, revealed a programme on Tuesday that includes around twenty activities. The Councillor for Culture, Biel Payeras, and programmer Pep Crespí presented a proposal that aims to consolidate the event after more than three decades of history.
Concerts and international stars
The free inaugural concert in the plaza Major will feature trumpeter Erik Truffaz and saxophonist Antonio Lizana with their show New Sketches of Spain. The Parc de Can Cirera Prim will host singer China Moses, the Blau Salvatge project by Mallorcan vibraphonist Joan Pérez-Villegas, and the closing concert of Lucía Rey Cuarteto with Nómadas.
The festival continues to support emerging talent with the Jazzdara cycle in the pati de Can Verdal, featuring performances by Fran Ramos Quartet, Goran Levi Quartet and Tomeu & Joan Garcias Quartet. Additionally, it adds parallel proposals such as Glojazzada (jazz and improvised glosa in Crestatx), Sa Pobla Lindy Jazz Connexió (swing dance in the plaça del Metge Duet) and Jazzet (family day with workshops).
Award for Ferran Pereyra and charity campaign
The Festival Mallorca Jazz sa Pobla 2026 Award will be given to journalist and music critic Ferran Pereyra. His photographic work will be showcased in the exhibition Stolen Moments, in the park of Can Cirera Prim. The official festival image is created by Mallorcan artist Albert Pinya.
The festival will reinforce its social aspect by allocating part of the proceeds to the "Som n'Oriol" campaign, supporting research into FOXG1 syndrome, a rare neurological disease. The festival is produced by the Town Hall of sa Pobla and is supported by the Consell de Mallorca, the Institut d'Estudis Baleàrics, the Fundació Guillem Cifre de Colonya and JS Hotels.
Complementary activities
The programme includes the presentation of the book Sketches of Catalonia by Pere Pons, a conference on the centenary of Miles Davis, and the screening of the film Köln 75. Jazz lovers will enjoy around twenty proposals that combine music, literature and cinema in various venues across sa Pobla.
For the local residents, the festival offers a unique opportunity to enjoy top-level jazz without leaving Mallorca. Family activities such as Jazzet and the swing dance in the plaça del Metge Duet will allow the youngest to engage with the genre in a playful way.
The free inaugural concert in the plaza Major will be on 28 July at 21:00 hours. The rest of the activities will be spread over the three weeks of the festival. Tickets for the paid concerts are already available on the Town Hall of sa Pobla's website.
