Poblense kicked off pre-season on Monday with eleven new faces and an ambitious message from president Miquel Molondro, who urged players to believe they can reach the elite.
The Poblense has set its machinery in motion for the 2026-27 season. On Monday, the squad gathered at the Poliesportiu de Sa Pobla for their first training session under the guidance of Julián Robles, the new coach who replaces Óscar Troya.
The session included the presence of the eleven new signings that bolster the project: Juanmi Durán, Miquel Alorda, Pere Amer, Dani Ramos, Sergi Frau, Riverón, Nacho Bonet, Raúl Prada, Tomás Balcedo, Elías Ramírez, and Marc Ramon. They are joined by Aarón Gómez, a goalkeeper on loan from Real Madrid, whose signing was announced on the same Monday.
A speech to dream big
The club president, Miquel Molondro, did not miss the opportunity to rally his players. “Our goal and yours must be to understand that you are just passing through; you are 25, 26-year-old players who can perfectly play in the First Division,” he declared to the group.
Molondro used the recent triumph of the Spanish national team in the World Cup as an example to emphasise that any dream is achievable. “You can identify with some player from the Spanish national team and even dream that one of you, at some point, could be there,” he added with conviction.
The bar set high after the play-off
The Poblense arrives at this pre-season with high morale after an excellent campaign in Segunda Federación. The team finished in third place in the regular league and came close to promotion to Primera RFEF, falling in the penalty shootout against Águilas in the play-off.
That tie left a bittersweet taste in Sa Pobla, but also the certainty that the team is capable of fighting for higher goals. With a renewed squad and the ambition of its president, the bar for this season could not be higher: they not only aspire to repeat the play-off but also to dream of something even greater.
For the Poblense fans, pre-season is the first thermometer. The new faces will need to integrate quickly into Robles' system, which favours offensive and possession-based football. The fans, who already filled the Poliesportiu during key matches last season, are eagerly waiting to see their team in action. The first friendly matches will take place in the coming weeks, and the league debut is scheduled for the end of August.
