LaSexta offers tonight, starting at 11:00 PM, the last three episodes of the miniseries 'Saint Barth', a six-part French police comedy that has been broadcast over the past few weeks. The show, starring actor Florent Peyre, transports viewers to the Caribbean to follow the cases of Commander Gabriel Saint-Barthélemy.
The main character is known for his extravagant style and for literally stepping into the shoes of the victims to solve the crimes. The series combines classic intrigue with humour and tropical landscapes, and was filmed on the island of Grande-Terre in the Guadeloupe archipelago.
In its original airing on the French channel TF1, the series surpassed 3.5 million viewers, a figure that reflects its acceptance among the French audience. The production is an international co-production by Federation Studios France, TF1, Be-FILMS, and RTBF.
The fourth episode of tonight presents the case of Célia Gomez, a young nurse found dead in her convertible with a syringe stuck in her heart. The investigation leads Saint-Barth into the nightlife, where he discovers that the victim was using her medical skills for illegal purposes. To solve the mystery, the commander must immerse himself in that environment, with the help of his old friend Auguste.
In the fifth episode, Saint-Barth and Commissioner Baccara attend a reception at the prefect's house when a parachutist falls from the sky in the middle of the buffet. The problem is that Matteo Coloni was already dead before landing. The plot thickens as it is discovered that the victim not only brought adventurers to the island but also concealed other businesses. Saint-Barth places himself under the parachute to understand what happened.
The sixth and final episode concludes the series with the body of Tom Mirel, a surfer found on the beach impaled by a swordfish. The victim was fighting for eco-friendly surfing, but not all members of his group shared that noble cause. Additionally, Saint-Barth grapples with his secret: he is Lou's father, although he promised Avril not to reveal it.
