Atlético Baleares kicked off their pre-season with a 2-1 victory against Mallorca B in an intense match that was decided in the final stages. The game, played at the Estadi Balear, served as the first trial for Óscar Troya's team and as the second for the Bermellón reserve team, which had lost 4-1 to Mallorca's first team days earlier at Son Bibiloni.
The Balearic side fielded a starting eleven consisting of Sabater, Montcheu, Hugo, Martí, Guijarro, Pablo, Gerardo, Jofre, Miguelito, Caballero, and Catalá. Meanwhile, Mallorca B, led by Pep Lluís Martí for the first time, lined up Toni, Alberto, Saifdine, Iago Mendes, Salhi, Yerga, Samu, Abdou, Albert, Hugo, and Anastasio.
The initial dominance of Atlético Baleares translated into the first goal in the 8th minute. Adri Catalá received the ball at the edge of the area, shaped up, and unleashed a powerful cross-shot that kissed the post before going in. The 1-0 score reflected the home side's superiority in the early stages.
The first half also saw the withdrawal of player Hugo due to physical discomfort in the 33rd minute, being replaced by Álvaro Martín. The match remained competitive with chances for both sides, but the score did not change until half-time.

The draw held until the 71st minute, when youth player Lázaro made a good individual play that resulted in a penalty. Bover took responsibility from the spot and did not miss, establishing the final score of 2-1. The Bermellón reserve team attempted to respond, but Atlético Baleares managed to maintain their lead.
Óscar Troya's team thus concluded their first test with positive feelings, accumulating minutes ahead of the season in Segunda RFEF, a category in which Mallorca B will also compete. Atlético Baleares' next commitment will be this Saturday, August 1, at 18:30, against Santanyí at the Estadi Balear.
For the Balearic fans, the match showcased flashes of quality and confirmed that the squad is in the process of getting into shape.
