Azul Marino Mallorca Palma, newly promoted to the LF Endesa, will debut at home against the reigning champion, Valencia Basket, on October 3. The Balearic team faces its return to the top tier of women's basketball.

The Azul Marino Mallorca Palma already knows the path that awaits them in their return to the elite of Spanish women's basketball. The Liga Femenina Endesa 2026-27 will kick off for the Mallorcan team on October 3 at the Palau Municipal d'Esports de Son Moix, where they will host Valencia Basket, the current champion of the competition. A first test of the highest demand for a team returning to the top tier after achieving promotion last season.

A Challenging Schedule for the Newcomers

The team led by Miquel Ramis will not have it easy in their debut. Valencia Basket, who will defend the title won in the 2025-26 season, arrives in Palma intending to start on the right foot. However, Azul Marino Mallorca Palma will try to leverage the home advantage to secure their first victory in the top tier.

The opening day, scheduled for Saturday, October 3, will be a great test for the players of Carlos Cardona, who will face one of the strongest teams in the league. The taronja team, coached by Rubén Burgos, boasts a squad full of internationals and is a clear favourite for the title.

Azul Marino Mallorca Palma, for its part, arrives with the hope of establishing itself in the elite. The team has undergone an intense pre-season to be ready for the league start. The Mallorcan fans, who responded with great enthusiasm during the promotion, eagerly await the return of top-level women's basketball to the island.

The Rest of the Schedule: Key Matches for Survival

After debuting against the champion, the schedule does not give Azul Marino Mallorca Palma any respite. In the second round, the team will have a rest as Valencia Basket will play at home, but starting from round 3, the Mallorcans will face direct rivals such as Movistar Estudiantes and Baxi Ferrol. The first Balearic derby, however, will not come until round 18, when Azul Marino Mallorca Palma will host Valencia Basket again, but this time in the second half of the season.

One of the most anticipated matches by the fans will be the one the Mallorcan team plays at home against Meins Avenida in round 2, although in that match Azul Marino Mallorca Palma will be the visiting team. The Balearic team will also face historic teams such as Spar Girona and Casademont Zaragoza.

The first half of the season will conclude on December 29 with an away match against Casademont Zaragoza. It will be the last game of the year for Azul Marino Mallorca Palma, which will aim to reach the Christmas break with a positive record.

Goal: Survival and Dreaming of the Copa de la Reina

The main objective of Azul Marino Mallorca Palma is to achieve survival in the top tier. To do this, the team must accumulate points at home and take advantage of matches against direct rivals. The fans, who have shown their loyalty at key moments, will be a decisive factor.

Moreover, the Mallorcan team dreams of qualifying for the Copa de la Reina, which will take place from March 25 to 28 in Zaragoza. To achieve this, they must be among the top eight by the end of the first half of the season. An ambitious but not impossible challenge for a team that has already demonstrated its capacity for overcoming.

The regular season will conclude on April 21 with a match at Meins Avenida. From there, the playoffs will determine the champion. Azul Marino Mallorca Palma hopes to be in the fight until the end.

The first step will be on October 3 against Valencia Basket. A match that promises strong emotions and will mark the beginning of a new era for women's basketball in Mallorca.
