Palma de Mallorca airport has added a summer route to Castellón, which will operate until August 30 with two weekly frequencies. The connection strengthens the offer of 16 regular routes from Castellón airport.

Palma de Mallorca airport has added a new connection with Castellón this summer, which joins the 16 regular routes operated by the airport in the Valencian Community. The route, which began this Friday, will be active until August 30 with two weekly frequencies, on Fridays and Sundays.

A route that strengthens inter-island connectivity

The flights between Palma and Castellón are operated with an ATR 72-600 with a capacity for 72 passengers. This is the second consecutive season that this summer connection is offered, allowing residents of Mallorca to travel directly to the north of the Valencian Community without the need for stopovers.

The general director of Aerocas, Raquel París, highlighted in a statement that the activation of this route means that Castellón airport now has all the planned regular routes for this year. The 16 routes total 36 weekly frequencies, which equates to 72 weekly flights to or from Castellón, a record figure for the airport.

More options for travel from Mallorca

In addition to Palma, Castellón airport maintains connections with destinations such as Budapest, Krakow, Berlin, Düsseldorf Weeze, Milan, London, Brussels, Bucharest, Cluj, Bologna, Manchester, Porto, Asturias, Bilbao, and Madrid. A charter operation with Slovakia is also underway between June and September.

For travellers from Mallorca, this route provides a direct alternative to reach the province of Castellón, known for its beaches and the natural park of Sierra de Irta. Tickets can be purchased through the airline operating the route, with prices varying depending on how far in advance the booking is made.

Castellón airport sets passenger records

Castellón airport finished the first half of 2026 with a 9% year-on-year growth in passengers, recording the best start to the year in its history. Between January and June, it accounted for 148,009 passengers, 12,663 more than in the same period of 2025.

This increase reflects the consolidation of the airport as a relevant transport node in the Mediterranean arc. For residents of Mallorca, the summer route to Castellón offers a gateway to an area with tourist and cultural attractions, such as the city of Castellón de la Plana or the interior of the province.

Flights from Palma depart on Fridays and Sundays, with schedules that allow for weekend or multi-day stays. It is recommended to check the airline's website for exact schedules and baggage conditions.
