Castellón airport has launched a seasonal route to Palma de Mallorca, operational from July 17 to August 30, with two weekly flights. This connection brings the total to 16 regular routes during the peak season.

Castellón airport has added Palma de Mallorca to its network of regular destinations, a seasonal route that will operate from July 17 to August 30. The connection, operated by a ATR 72-600 with 72 seats, will have two weekly flights: on Fridays and Sundays. With this addition, the airport reaches a total of 16 regular routes, its historical maximum.

Record number of weekly flights

The general director of Aerocas, Raquel París, has emphasised that the launch of the Palma route completes the planned schedule for this summer. In total, the airport will operate 36 weekly flights, equivalent to 72 round trips, an unprecedented figure. The offer includes destinations such as Madrid, Bilbao, London, Berlin, Milan, and Bucharest, in addition to charter flights to Slovakia.

Growth in passenger traffic

The increase in connections is reflected in passenger data. During the first half of 2026, the airport recorded 148,009 passengers, a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2025, which means an additional 12,663 travellers. This is the best start to the year in its history. The route to Palma, which connects the Valencian Community with the Balearic Islands, enhances the holiday offer and boosts tourism between both regions.

Impact for Mallorcan travellers

For residents of Mallorca, this connection provides a direct alternative to travel to Castellón without the need for layovers. The flights, scheduled on Fridays and Sundays, facilitate weekend getaways and travel for work or family reasons. The route will be operational during the peak of the tourist season, allowing visitors to make the most of their holidays to explore the province of Castellón, known for its beaches and the Serra d'Irta Natural Park.

A commitment to connectivity

The expansion of routes consolidates Castellón airport's strategy to strengthen its connectivity. According to París, the addition of Palma de Mallorca improves connections between the mainland and the islands, and contributes to the economic development of the area. For travellers from Mallorca, the new route opens a direct door to a province with a growing cultural and leisure offer. Tickets are already available on the website of the operating airline.
