The Palma City Council has once again opened the Son Fusteret venue to follow the 2026 World Cup final, with a capacity expanded to 20,000 people. Access will be free from 18:00, with enhanced public transport and a new rest area.

The Palma City Council has decided to double the capacity of the Son Fusteret venue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, which will take place next Sunday. Following the positive reception of the semi-final, where 9,800 people gathered, the council has opted to increase the capacity to 20,000 places so that more fans can experience the decisive match together.

The Spanish national team will face the winner of the semi-final between Argentina and England, a clash that promises strong emotions. The Balearic capital is rallying behind the national team, and the City Council has prepared a special arrangement to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.

Free access and timings

The gates of Son Fusteret will open at 18:00, with free entry until capacity is reached. To expedite access, three entry points will be set up, allowing for better distribution of attendees and enhanced security. The match will kick off at 21:00, and the pre-match will be enlivened by DJ Jaume Colombás, who will provide music from the opening of the gates.

The venue will feature a new layout, including a relocated rest and shaded area to improve audience comfort. Services will be reinforced to cater to the expected large turnout.

Enhanced public transport

The EMT will launch a special service with five articulated buses. From 18:20, line 10 will be reinforced with routes between Sindicat and Son Fusteret. From 23:00, buses will run continuously to Plaza de España as they reach capacity.

Additionally, Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca will enhance the metro service to facilitate the movement of attendees. The City Council recommends using public transport to avoid traffic jams and parking issues in the area.

A security and comfort arrangement

The council has worked on a plan to ensure the safety and well-being of fans. The increase in capacity has been accompanied by a reorganization of the space to avoid overcrowding and ensure that all attendees can watch the match with good visibility. The experience of the semi-final, which took place without serious incidents, has served as a basis for this new edition.

For the residents of Palma, this is a unique opportunity to experience the World Cup final in a festive and shared atmosphere. The City Council reminds that access is free and recommends arriving early to avoid queues. After the match, the public transport arrangement will remain operational until all attendees can return home.
