The two workers who were injured last Saturday in Palma after a man fell on them from the rooftop of a building are improving. According to health sources, one of them has a tibia and fibula fracture due to the strong impact, while the other has received medical assistance and their condition is not serious.
The incident occurred around 15:45 hours on Francisco Martí Mora street, when the two employees were resting and having coffee at the bar terrace. The man, whose identity is still unknown, fell from the top of the building and, during the descent, first hit a tree located next to the building, a blow that, according to initial reports, may have cushioned part of the violence of the fall.
Moments later, the young man's body ended up crashing onto a table at the terrace where the two workers were. The strong impact caused injuries to all three involved and generated moments of great tension among the establishment's customers and passersby, who approached to provide first aid while emergency services arrived.
The rapid intervention of the medical teams allowed them to attend to the affected individuals and transfer them for medical assistance. Police officers proceeded to cordon off the area to facilitate the work of the medical teams and preserve the scene for investigation.
Investigation opened
The case is under investigation by the Homicide Group of the National Police, which is working to determine the exact circumstances of the fall and, especially, to find out the identity of the young man who fell from the building. So far, the causes that led the man to fall into the void have not been clarified.
Investigators are analyzing whether it was an accident or if there are other circumstances behind what happened. The investigation remains open and it will be the result of the police inquiries that will determine whether the young man suffered an accidental fall or if there is something more.
