The latest operation against the 'El Pablo' clan in La Soledad reveals an almost business-like organisation: shifts, signatures and schedules written to sell drugs 24 hours a day.
The operation by the National Police that dismantled a drug den in the Palma neighbourhood of La Soledad has led to an unexpected discovery: agents seized time sheets with work shifts, attendance signatures, and entry and exit times of the alleged sellers and lookouts.
The documentation, attributed to the network led by Pablo Campos Maya, known as 'El Pablo', reflects an internal organisation that is almost business-like. According to the investigation, each member was assigned a specific role, with established shifts to keep the sales point operational 24 hours a day.
The discovery has drawn attention due to its similarity to the mandatory workday registration promoted by the Ministry of Labour. In this case, investigators point out that the time control was used to coordinate drug sales and the surveillance of the property, not to comply with labour regulations.
The drug den was fortified with two doors, one of which was reinforced with six iron bolts, and had a surveillance camera focused on the street to alert of police arrival. During the raid, a suspect attempted to dispose of a package by throwing it down a drain that led to a water cistern, designed to eliminate evidence.
The National Police believe that these documents demonstrate the planning of the criminal organisation. The time sheets will be analysed to determine the level of involvement of each suspect and to reconstruct the internal functioning of the network, one of the most active in the area.
