S’Illot will celebrate its summer festivities from August 13 to 23 with a programme that revives the correfoc and debuts the first Nit de l’Art. The presentation took place this Tuesday in Manacor.
The coastal area of S’Illot, in Manacor, is all set for its summer festivities, which will take place from August 13 to 23, 2026. The programme was presented this Tuesday by the mayor of Manacor, Miquel Oliver; the delegate of S’Illot, Júlia Acosta, and the representative of the S’Illot Neighbourhood Association, Margalida Galmés.
This year, the festivities pay tribute to the memory of the coastal area with old postcards of S’Illot as the thread running through the programme, which combines traditional events with new features such as the return of the correfoc and the first Nit de l’Art.
The kick-off will be on Thursday, August 13, with a parade led by the La Salle Drums and Bugles Band, followed by the inaugural speech, which will be delivered by the S’Illot Sports Club. Afterwards, the Municipal Music Band of Manacor will offer a concert in the Matí round.
The programme includes children's activities, storytelling, workshops, traditional games, and sports exhibitions, as well as musical evenings such as line dancing and ballroom dancing with Pep & Paqui and Maria José Guardiola, the Nit d’Havaneres with the group Gent des Pla and the Grand Revetlla on August 22 with Islanders and DJ Tere G.
Sports also have their place with the XXXII Circuit of Manacor Beaches, the Judo Trophy, the traditional Petanque Tournament, and the XIII Aquathlon of S’Illot. Established events such as the Sombrillada, featuring karaoke by DJ Lozano, and the Night Fair, scheduled for Saturday, August 22, will also take place.
The closing will be on Sunday, August 23, with an intense day: the boat carrying from the Nautical esplanade, the X Meeting of Giants from the municipalities of Manacor and Sant Llorenç, outdoor children's cinema featuring Mary Anning and the Dinosaur Beach, and the traditional Grand Firecracker display on the beach, organised by Pirotécnia Jordá.
The delegate of S’Illot, Júlia Acosta, highlighted that "this year we wanted to maintain the essence of the festivities, with the traditional events that are part of S’Illot's identity, while also incorporating new features such as the return of the correfoc and the first Nit de l’Art. These festivities are made possible thanks to the involvement of the entities, volunteers, and residents, who every year build community and keep our traditions alive".
For his part, the mayor of Manacor, Miquel Oliver, explained that "it is important for the programme to combine activities aimed at the people who live in S’Illot all year round with proposals that invite others to visit the area. This balance allows us to consolidate festivities with their own identity, strengthen the sense of community, and at the same time, introduce S’Illot to visitors".
