EMT Palma will implement a special operation with reinforcements on lines 8 and 33 for the Trofeo Ciutat de Palma, which will see RCD Mallorca face Paris Saint-Germain at Son Moix at 21:00.
The Palma City Council will activate a special reinforcement of EMT buses this Wednesday, August 5, for the 48th Trofeo Ciutat de Palma, which will pit RCD Mallorca against Paris Saint-Germain at the Mallorca Son Moix Stadium starting at 21:00.
Lines L8 and L33 will have additional services to facilitate access to the sports venue and the return to the city centre after the match, according to the council. The aim is to streamline the entry and exit of fans and encourage the use of public transport to reduce congestion of private vehicles around the stadium.
Specifically, the L8, which connects the Sindicat area with the Mallorca Son Moix Stadium, will be reinforced during the two hours prior to the match. These extra services will be added to the usual frequencies, which during that time frame run every 11 minutes on average.
At the end of the match, users will be able to access the L8 and L33 buses that will be parked at the stadium gates, on Camí dels Reis. Heading towards the centre, the L8 will maintain its usual route to the Sindicat interchange.
The reinforcement of the L33 will bring residents of Camp Redó, s'Escorxador, and other areas of the General Riera corridor to Son Fuster, also passing through the interchange at Plaza de España and facilitating connections with other lines in the network.
The municipal recommendation is to attend the match using public transport and to arrive at the stadium early to avoid delays at the entrances.
With this measure, the Palma City Council aims to make travel to Son Moix more efficient and sustainable on a night of high attendance, focusing on the local fans who will come to see the red-and-black team against one of the strongest rivals in European football.
