The Calvià Town Hall, located in Mallorca, has celebrated the achievement of 71 young people in the Vocational Internships and the Socio-Educational Intervention Programme (PISE). This event took place last Monday, where students from various entities that selflessly collaborate in these projects participated.
A total of 71 young people complete the training programmes
In the XI edition of the Vocational Internships, 62 young people from Calvià engaged with 52 public and private entities, as well as 4 educational centres, accumulating 135 visits and observational internships. Additionally, 9 students have completed the PISE programme, with support from 12 companies.
The mayor, Juan Antonio Amengual, and his government team welcomed the participants, who were awarded diplomas for their effort and dedication in these programmes. The participation of these young people aims to foster their self-awareness and improve their self-esteem, facilitating their academic progress.
Objectives and results of the programmes
The Vocational Internships managed by the Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries (IMEB) are aimed at students in 4th year of ESO and 1st year of Bachillerato. This programme provides real work experiences, guiding them on their educational and vocational path.
Since its inception, a total of 620 young people from Calvià have participated, along with 527 entities, and 1,245 visits have been made. For its part, the PISE programme, which aims to combat early school dropout, was reactivated in the 2025/2026 academic year thanks to a collaboration agreement with the Department of Education, strengthening communication with the participating educational centres.
This joint effort is crucial to ensure effective monitoring of the students, helping them feel valued for their effort and contributing to strengthening their self-esteem and future outlook.
