The Calvià Town Hall, through the Department of Social Services, announces the launch of the Summer Respite Classroom for this August. This municipal service is aimed at individuals with intellectual disabilities who are registered and reside in the municipality.

One of the most significant changes this year is the expansion of the age range for beneficiaries. Unlike previous editions, which focused on young people aged 14 to 30, this year individuals aged 15 to 59 will be able to participate. This decision responds to the growing demand from families, thus allowing greater access to this municipal resource.

Objectives of the Summer Respite Classroom

The Summer Respite Classroom, managed by the ASDICA association, aims to provide a space for leisure, coexistence, and participation. The scheduled activities are tailored to the users and are designed to promote leisure time and socio-cultural development.

At the same time, this service is an important support resource for caregiver families. Especially during the summer months, many of these families need additional assistance to balance care with their work obligations, or to attend to elderly relatives who require help.

The Summer Respite Classroom is intended for all individuals who meet the requirement of having an official certificate of intellectual disability. However, those who require special care or individualized attention during activities will not be able to access the service.

Information about the activities

The activities of the Summer Respite Classroom will take place at Es Generador, from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Users who use the dining service can remain at the centre until 4:00 PM.

This initiative not only promotes social participation and the maintenance of personal skills but also supports the autonomy of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Registrations and information

Registrations will be open at the ASDICA headquarters, located at Calle Falcó, 2, Son Ferrer (Calvià). To facilitate organisation, it is recommended to call 669 474 155 before visiting the office. More information can also be obtained via email at asdica@asdica.com.

Fees:

Full month: 90 euros.
Fortnight: 45 euros.
Dining service: separate cost.
Inquiries about shorter periods: contact the entity.

Interested individuals can also contact the Department of Social Services of the Calvià Town Hall, located in the town hall building (Carrer de Julià Bujosa Sans, Batle, 1), by calling 971 139 173 or writing to calviasocial@calvia.com.
