Pianists Bea Galán and Dina Nedéltcheva will perform on July 29 at Son Marroig, as part of the 48th International Music Festival Deià. The programme, titled 'Summer Harmonies', combines classics, jazz, and Latin rhythms.
On Wednesday, July 29, the Son Marroig estate in Deià will host a four-hand piano concert by pianists Bea Galán and Dina Nedéltcheva. The event, starting at 20:30, is part of the programming for the 48th International Music Festival Deià, one of the most established musical events on the island.
Under the title 'Summer Harmonies', the performers propose a musical journey that spans from classical composers such as Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, or Debussy to contemporary and Latin pieces by authors like Piazzolla, Arturo Márquez, or Gershwin. The concert is structured in two parts and explores the possibilities of four-hand piano, a format that requires very precise coordination between the two performers sharing the same instrument.
Bea Galán, born in Palma, began her musical studies at the age of seven at the Professional Conservatory of Palma de Mallorca, where she received the Honour Award for Chamber Music. She later trained at Musikene (Basque Country), specialising in contemporary music. Currently, she combines teaching at the Príncipe Claus Conservatory with her work as a pianist in various choirs, and she is developing a research line on the influences of jazz in classical music.
On the other hand, Dina Nedéltcheva, of Bulgarian origin, started playing the piano at the age of four. She graduated with Honours from the Superior Conservatory of Music in Badajoz and has performed in several countries across Europe and the United States. In Mallorca, she is a regular collaborator with the Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears and the National Orchestra of Spain. Additionally, she directs the Musicalen centre in Palma, a school she founded in 2012, which has become a benchmark for musical training in the capital.
The duo formed by Galán and Nedéltcheva is considered by critics to be one of the Spanish ensembles with the greatest international projection. Their proposal for this concert in Deià combines classical tradition with influences from jazz and Latin rhythms, offering a varied and accessible musical experience for all types of audiences.
