The Mallorcan academy continues its international expansion and will open a new Rafa Nadal Tennis Center at the Samara Lombok resort, featuring four tennis courts and four padel courts.
The Rafa Nadal Academy, based in Manacor, continues its international expansion with the opening of a new Rafa Nadal Tennis Center on the island of Lombok (Indonesia). The centre will be part of the Samara Lombok resort, a luxury complex scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2028.
The new Rafa Nadal Tennis Center will have four tennis courts and another four padel courts, and will offer sports programmes for players of all ages and levels, based on the methodology developed by Rafa Nadal and his technical team over more than twenty years on the professional circuit.
Maribel Nadal, Deputy Director General of the Rafa Nadal Academy, expressed her satisfaction with the project: “We are very excited about the arrival of the first Rafa Nadal Tennis Center in Southeast Asia. Lombok is a destination with enormous international potential, and we believe this project will bring our methodology and our passion for sport closer to new generations of players and families from around the world.”
The Samara Lombok complex, located 25 minutes from Lombok International Airport, will cover 150 hectares and will be the first “Destination by Hyatt” in Southeast Asia. It will initially open with three boutique hotels and 150 villas, and its master plan includes a total of 500 residential villas.
The Rafa Nadal Tennis Centers are a complementary line to the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca and the one opened in Kuwait. These are tennis complexes located in high-end holiday and residential resorts, combining leisure, tourism, and top-quality sports training.
With this new opening, Lombok will join the international network of the Rafa Nadal Academy, which already has academies in Manacor and Kuwait, as well as Rafa Nadal Tennis Centers in Costa Mujeres (Mexico), Sani (Greece), Hong Kong, Marbella, and Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), in addition to the Rafa Nadal Tennis Program in Egypt. A new Rafa Nadal Tennis Center is also scheduled to open in Brazil in 2028.
