The municipality of Alaró opened the new Ses Cases Noves park this Thursday, a green area with children's play facilities, a sports area, and relaxation spaces. The project involved an investment of nearly 693,000 euros.
The municipality of Alaró has inaugurated the new Ses Cases Noves park this Thursday, a public space that expands the green and leisure areas of the locality and aims to become a meeting point for children, families, and residents. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by the mayor, Llorenç Perelló, and was attended by the councillor for Tourism, Culture, and Sports of the Balearic Government, Jaume Bauzà, as well as local councillors and representatives.
The project has transformed a previously unused area into a modern, accessible park equipped for all ages. The work included the comprehensive development of the site, a children's play area with adapted elements, a sports and exercise area, relaxation spaces with benches and urban furniture, a picnic area, accessible pathways for pedestrians, new landscaping and trees, as well as lighting, drainage systems, and other necessary infrastructure to ensure a safe, functional, and sustainable space.
The funding for the park has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of three administrations. The Government of the Balearic Islands, through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sports and with Next Generation EU funds, has contributed €399,611.55, which has been used for land acquisition, project drafting, and improving the surrounding sidewalks. Meanwhile, the Mallorca Council has contributed €174,342.50 to co-finance the works, while the Alaró Town Council has allocated €118,872.51 for co-financing, project management, and health and safety coordination.
In total, the three administrations have mobilised nearly €693,000, a figure that has not only allowed for the creation of the new park but also improved urban quality and accessibility throughout the Ses Cases Noves area. During the inauguration, Mayor Llorenç Perelló highlighted that “today we complete a project that the residents have been waiting for many years. We recover a space to turn it into a place for coexistence, play, and meeting, designed for all generations.”
Councillor Jaume Bauzà emphasised the Balearic government's commitment to ensuring that “European money reaches our towns to make them more accessible, safe, and sustainable for everyone.” With this opening, Alaró continues to advance in the recovery of quality public spaces and the creation of facilities that improve the daily lives of residents, promoting coexistence, physical activity, and a more sustainable and friendly model of municipality.
The new park is now open to the public and is located in the Ses Cases Noves area, which now gains a facility designed for all ages, from the youngest to the elderly.
