The second edition of the Bons Producte Local campaign has closed with €1.78 million in sales and 83,419 vouchers redeemed in the Balearic Islands. The Government highlights that 91.74% of the vouchers have been used.

The second edition of the local product voucher campaign, promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, in collaboration with the Mallorca Chamber of Commerce, has generated €1,783,882.76 in direct sales for the primary sector of the Balearic Islands. According to the report presented this Monday, consumers redeemed 83,419 vouchers, 91.74% of those available, which translated into 21,049 purchase transactions.

The councillor Joan Simonet and the director general of Agro-food Quality and Local Product, Joan Llabrés, announced the results at Son Catiu, one of the participating establishments in Mallorca, where nearly 1,280 vouchers were redeemed. Simonet emphasized that "nearly €1.8 million has gone directly to the purchase of products from our farmers, ranchers, fishermen, and producers."

The campaign, which had a budget of one million euros, doubled the resources of the first edition as a measure by the Government to mitigate the effects of the war in the Middle East on the primary sector. Additionally, the maximum amount per consumer was increased from 60 to 100 euros, with discounts of 10 euros for every 20 spent.

In total, 13,656 people redeemed vouchers, with an average amount of €84.75 per sale and an average of four vouchers per transaction. Llabrés highlighted that the results demonstrate that "the vouchers are an effective tool to direct consumption towards local products."

By island, Mallorca concentrated the largest volume: 71,808 vouchers, 86.08% of the total. It was followed by Ibiza with 6,339, Menorca with 4,938, and Formentera with 334, where 100% of the allocated vouchers were redeemed. The redemptions took place in 119 establishments, 102 of them in Mallorca.

The response far exceeded the first edition, which in 2025 generated €778,489 with 34,658 vouchers. This year, sales have increased by more than one million euros, and the number of vouchers redeemed has risen from 34,658 to 83,419. Simonet noted that "we have made more resources available to citizens, and these resources have turned into more purchases and more economic activity."

In terms of products, wine and fruits and vegetables accounted for two out of every three vouchers: 27,265 and 27,212 respectively, making up more than 65% of the total. Meat and cold cuts recorded 13,360 vouchers. Agricultural operations led the redemptions with 18,852 vouchers, followed by cooperatives with 15,911 and the direct sales network with 14,650.

From the Mallorca Chamber of Commerce, Carlos Bibiloni, project manager, valued that "buying and consuming local products is betting on businesses, producers, and shops in our Islands." The campaign has allowed thousands of people to connect directly with producers and learn about their products.
