The Balearic Government, through the Mallorca Transport Consortium, is modifying the Aerotib A32 line so that buses can transport passengers between Alcúdia and Inca, in addition to the route to the airport.
The Mallorca Transport Consortium (CTM) has announced a modification to the service of the Aerotib A32 line, which connects Can Picafort with Palma airport. From this Wednesday, buses will also be able to pick up and drop off passengers at the stops along the Alcúdia corridor heading to Inca, as reported by the Balearic Government.
Until now, A32 users could only use the service if their final destination was the airport. With the change, residents and workers in the area will be able to travel between the municipalities of the Alcúdia bay and Inca, which represents a significant enhancement of public transport offerings in northern Mallorca.
The new functionality aims to alleviate the high demand recorded on line 302 Can Picafort-Palma, which connects Alcúdia with Inca. According to data from the Ministry of Mobility, 77.5% of trips on that line are made using the Unique or Intermodal Card, while 20.8% are paid with a bank card, reflecting a majority use by regular residents.
The A32 service maintains its average frequency of every 50 minutes, with the first departure from Can Picafort at 03:50 and the last from the airport at 00:05. The line runs through the entire Alcúdia bay corridor, the urban centre of Alcúdia, sa Pobla, and Inca to the airport.
For residents of Alcúdia and Inca, this expansion provides an additional option for their daily commutes, especially for those who use public transport to get to work or educational centres. The measure also benefits tourists staying in the northern part of the island who need to connect with the capital.
The Government has highlighted that this action is part of the ongoing strategy to improve intercity bus services (TIB) and promote sustainable mobility. The Ministry of Mobility and Housing has emphasised that the aim is to offer efficient transport options tailored to user needs.
With this modification, the Aerotib A32 consolidates itself as a key tool for connecting northern Mallorca with the airport, and now also as an intermunicipal link that facilitates travel without the need for additional transfers.
