The Consell de Mallorca has launched the 'Passaport de la Ruta dels Gegants de Llum a sa Dragonera', an initiative that allows visitors to collect stamps at four points in the natural park.

The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, and the councillor for Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, presented this Friday in sa Dragonera the ‘Passaport de la Ruta dels Gegants de Llum a sa Dragonera’. This proposal invites visitors to explore the most emblematic corners of the natural park while stamping a commemorative passport.

Four exclusive stamps for four lighthouses

The initiative includes four stamps designed exclusively for the occasion, each linked to an iconic location in sa Dragonera. The points where they can be found are: the Tramuntana lighthouse, the Llebeig lighthouse, the Na Pòpia lighthouse, and the Interpretation Centre of Cala Lledó. Each stamp represents a unique memory of the route taken.

“The Passaport de la Ruta dels Gegants de Llum a sa Dragonera is an additional incentive to explore and traverse some of the most beautiful and unique places on the island and take home a very special memento of the visit: a collection of moments, landscapes, and lighthouses that are part of the history and essence of sa Dragonera,” Galmés noted.

Inspired by the Camino de Santiago and Japan

The passport is inspired by two pilgrimage traditions: the Camino de Santiago and the Kumano Kodo route in Japan. The director of the Sa Dragonera Natural Park, Pilar Gómez, detailed the project to the authorities during the visit. The idea is for visitors to complete their passport with the stamps from each lighthouse, thus creating a personal journey across the island.

Bestard highlighted the initial positive reception: “This new initiative is receiving excellent feedback from visitors and businesses linked to the Park. The passport proposal is born with the intention to continue and grow, as there is the possibility of incorporating new collectible stamps, such as those that different businesses in Sant Elm are interested in creating to join the project.”

An experience that grows with local businesses

In fact, the project does not stop at the initial four stamps. The Consell expects that businesses in Sant Elm will join the initiative in the coming months, expanding the collection and promoting local tourism. For the residents of Mallorca, this proposal provides a perfect excuse to rediscover sa Dragonera, a protected natural space that is already a classic for island excursions.

Those interested can obtain the passport at the Interpretation Centre of Cala Lledó or at the lighthouses themselves. Each stamp is printed on the spot, without the need to purchase anything additional. A way to take a piece of the island home, at a leisurely pace and with the satisfaction of having completed the route.
