The Inca City Council has intensified controls against waste abandonment and other uncivil behaviours. In just three days, 45 complaints have been filed at various points in the municipality.
The Inca City Council has launched a new inspection campaign to curb uncivil acts related to waste management. The result has been striking: 45 complaints in just three days of controls in different locations within the municipality.
The action aims to ensure compliance with the municipal cleaning ordinance, preserve the quality of public space, and promote responsible attitudes among citizens. The council of the capital of Raiguer insists that the majority of residents follow the rules, but warns that it will not allow a few behaviours to harm the common environment.
The mayor of Inca, Virgilio Moreno, has been clear: “The vast majority of citizens comply with the rules and cooperate to keep the city clean, but we cannot allow a few uncivil attitudes to harm the space we all share. We will continue to carry out controls and enforce the ordinance firmly when necessary.”
For her part, the councillor for Services and Public Spaces, María del Carmen Osés, has emphasised that “proper waste management is a collective responsibility. Each piece of waste abandoned in the wrong place means more work for municipal services and an added cost for all citizens.” Osés added that the priority is “to raise awareness and facilitate proper recycling by citizens,” but that the City Council will act in cases of repeated or serious behaviours.
Among the detected infractions are the abandonment of objects and waste in public spaces, depositing waste outside of containers or at unauthorized times, failure to properly separate waste fractions, and the disposal of waste generated by non-residents, a practice known as “waste tourism”.
The campaign is part of a continued effort to keep Inca clean and civic-minded. Controls have been carried out in various points of the municipality, although the council has not specified the exact areas or the timings of upcoming operations.
For residents, the recommendation is clear: respect the designated times and containers and properly separate waste. The City Council reminds that the ordinance establishes financial penalties for those who do not comply, and that controls will continue in the coming weeks.
