Motorcyclist aged 53 dies in accident on the Ma-2220 at the entrance to Port de Pollença

A 53-year-old man died this morning after suffering a motorcycle accident on the Ma-2220, at the entrance to Port de Pollença. Emergency services could not revive him despite half an hour of resuscitation efforts.

The incident occurred around one in the morning, when the motorcyclist was travelling on the road that connects Alcúdia with Port de Pollença. Several drivers alerted 112 after seeing the man unconscious on the roadway.

Ambulances from SAMU 061, local police officers from Pollença, and members of the Traffic Detachment of the Civil Guard from Inca were dispatched to the scene. The medical personnel found the victim in cardiac arrest and began resuscitation efforts that lasted for half an hour, but they were unable to save his life.

Psychological support for family members

The victim was a well-known person in the area. Several witnesses who stopped to assist him recognised him and notified his family, who arrived at the scene. Upon confirmation of the death, there were moments of great sorrow, prompting the intervention of a psychologist from the 112 emergency service to provide support to the relatives.

The Civil Guard Traffic has taken charge of the investigation to clarify the circumstances of the accident. Among the initial hypotheses, it is not ruled out that the motorcyclist may have suffered a health issue while riding and subsequently fell onto the road.

This tragic event highlights the importance of exercising extreme caution on the secondary roads of Mallorca, especially at night. The Ma-2220 is a road with dark sections and curves, where any loss of control can be fatal. Experts recommend checking the condition of the motorcycle before setting off, always wearing protective gear, and stopping to rest at any signs of fatigue or discomfort.

The Pollença Town Hall has expressed its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. Traffic in the area was affected during the early hours of the morning while judicial procedures were carried out and the body was removed.
