A man was filmed this Tuesday walking along the Palma ring road towards the airport, next to the left lane and with no shoulder, causing moments of tension among drivers.

Tuesday afternoon left a high-risk image on the Palma ring road. A man was recorded by several motorists while walking on the left lane of this fast road, towards the airport, a stretch that barely has a shoulder and where vehicles travel at high speeds.

According to initial hypotheses, the pedestrian may have accessed the road from the vicinity of the Es Rafal petrol station. Another possibility suggests he is one of the residents of the shanty town located under the Es Rafal bridge, in the Germans Escalas park, a site very close to where he was seen.

The presence of the man prompted an immediate reaction from drivers, who reduced their speed and honked their horns to alert him to the danger. Despite the warnings, the individual continued his path along the roadway without leaving it, as seen in the images captured by witnesses.

At the moment, the reasons that led this man to walk on a road where pedestrian access is strictly prohibited are unknown. It has also not been revealed whether he was later located by the authorities or if he needed assistance after leaving the road.

There is no record that the incident caused traffic accidents, but the risk of a serious incident was evident. Vehicles travel at high speeds and any unexpected maneuver can trigger a tragedy, as road safety officials remind us.

This new episode highlights the danger of accessing a high-capacity road on foot and the importance of immediately alerting emergency services when a similar situation is detected, to prevent recklessness from ending in tragedy.
