Last Friday, a TIB bus travelled several kilometres along the Valldemossa road with a car's mirror hanging from its side. The driver was unaware of the impact and continued his route until several drivers alerted him unsuccessfully.
An unusual scene surprised drivers last Friday on the Valldemossa road in Palma. A TIB (Transport of the Balearic Islands) bus travelled several kilometres with the mirror of a car hanging from the rear left side, after allegedly having ripped it off in an accident that the driver did not notice.
The incident occurred around 3:00 PM, when several witnesses recorded the bus, identified as unit 2048, driving with the mirror swaying. The impact is believed to have happened minutes earlier, although the exact location is unknown and whether the affected vehicle was parked or moving.
Some drivers tried to alert the driver using gestures and flashing lights, but the bus continued its route without stopping. The image generated enormous interest among road users, one of the busiest access routes to the Balearic capital.
So far, it has not been revealed whether the owner of the car has filed a complaint or if the incident has been officially reported to the TIB concession company. The Local Police and the Civil Guard have not confirmed whether they have received any complaints related to these events.
The episode has reopened the debate about road safety in Mallorca and the need for heavy vehicle drivers to exercise caution. While the circumstances are clarified, the image of a bus with a hanging mirror has gone viral on social media.
