Carlos Barrón and Dennis, goalkeepers of Illes Balears Palma Futsal, shared time this Friday with participants at the summer camps of the Fundació Miquel Jaume in Palma and Alcudia. The captain attended the Poliesportiu de Sant Ferran, while Dennis handed out diplomas in Alcudia.

The children at the summer camps of the Fundació Miquel Jaume – Palma Futsal received a very special visit this Friday. The two goalkeepers from the first team, Carlos Barrón and Dennis, visited the facilities in Palma and Alcudia to share the last day of the week with the participants. It’s not every day that a professional player sits down to chat with you about what it’s like to live from sport.

In the morning, Carlos Barrón, captain of Illes Balears Palma Futsal, appeared at the Poliesportiu de Sant Ferran in Palma. There he coincided with the closing of the second week of the camp. The goalkeeper had a relaxed chat with the children, answered their questions about the life of a professional athlete, and, of course, took a group photo that the little ones will remember. For many, it was the highlight of the week: being able to ask an idol how to train for a penalty or what it feels like to save a decisive shot.

Dennis Closes the Week in Alcudia with Diploma Presentation

In the afternoon, the other goalkeeper of the team, Dennis, travelled to Alcudia to put the finishing touch on the camp that has been held this week in the town. There, the goalkeeper presented the accreditation diplomas to all attendees. The children, nervous and with smiles from ear to ear, received the certificate from a professional of the National Futsal League. For the parents, seeing their children so excited is priceless.

These visits are not an isolated event. The organisation of the camps, promoted by the Fundació Miquel Jaume, regularly schedules the presence of first team players so that participants can get to know their role models up close and share experiences. The initiative aims to bring elite sport closer to the youngest and promote values such as effort and perseverance.

The Palma Camp Continues Throughout July

While the Alcudia camp has already concluded its activities, the Palma camp is still ongoing. According to the organisation, the camp will extend for four more weeks, until the end of July. And it won’t be the last time the children see their idols: new visits from Palma Futsal players are planned in the coming weeks. Those interested in enrolling their children can still do so: registrations remain open for boys and girls.

For the residents of Palma and Alcudia, this initiative represents a unique opportunity for the little ones to enjoy sport in summer, learn values, and, in the process, meet their heroes on the court. And who knows, maybe one day one of them will end up taking the place of Barrón or Dennis.
