The route to Palma de Mallorca, operational from 17 July to 30 August, raises the number of regular connections at Castellón Airport to 16, achieving its best historical figure of 72 weekly flights.

Castellón Airport has introduced a direct route to Palma de Mallorca this summer, a seasonal connection that strengthens the tourist offer between the island and the province of Castellón. The route, which began operations on 17 July, will be available until 30 August, coinciding with the peak tourist demand period.

Two weekly flights with ATR aircraft

The connection between Castellón and Palma de Mallorca returns for the second consecutive summer. The service features two weekly flights on Fridays and Sundays, operated with an ATR 72-600 aircraft with a capacity for 72 passengers.

This route allows travellers from Mallorca to travel directly to the coast of Castellón without the need for layovers, facilitating tourism between both destinations. For residents of the island, it offers a quick alternative to visit the northern part of the Valencian Community.

Record activity with 72 weekly flights

With the addition of Palma, the airport reaches 16 regular routes, generating 36 weekly frequencies and a total of 72 flights between arrivals and departures each week. This is the highest figure recorded to date at the Castellón infrastructure.

The range of destinations includes national connections such as Madrid, Bilbao, and Asturias, as well as international ones like London, Berlin, Milano, and Brussels. Additionally, there are charter flights to Slovakia during the summer months.

Best first half of its history

The growth in passenger traffic confirms the airport's good moment. During the first half of 2026, it recorded 148,009 passengers, a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2025, with 12,663 additional travellers. This is the best start to the year since the airport opened.

For travellers from Mallorca, this seasonal route offers an opportunity to explore a province with attractions such as Gurugú Beach or the Sierra de Irta Natural Park, just over an hour's flight away. The direct connection avoids the usual transfers via Barcelona or Madrid.

With the route to Palma, the airport faces the central part of summer with the highest activity in its history. Forecasts indicate a continued increase in passenger numbers over the coming months, consolidating Castellón as an accessible destination from the island.
