The airline will operate up to 11 daily flights each way from 25 October, a 37% increase compared to last winter, with two new frequencies aimed at residents.

Iberia Express announced on Friday that it will increase its seat offer on the route between Madrid and Palma for the winter 2026/2027 season, reaching 560,000 seats. The company will operate up to 11 daily flights each way starting from 25 October, with a total of 67 weekly frequencies, compared to 49 last winter.

The decision responds, according to the airline, to the growing demand from travellers using this connection for both work and tourism. The Balearic Islands thus consolidate as one of Iberia Express's strategic markets, which aims to seasonally adjust tourism and facilitate the movements of residents.

Two new daily flights to facilitate the workday

The two new frequencies, now on sale, will depart from Madrid at 6:00 and 19:30, with returns from Palma at 8:00 and 21:25, respectively. Both flights will operate every day of the week. The schedules are specially designed for residents, who will be able to make the most of the entire workday in Madrid and return to the island at night, or travel early to arrive on time for work meetings.

The distribution of frequencies will vary by day: on Fridays, there will be 11 flights; on Thursdays and Sundays, 10; and on the rest of the week, nine. This schedule turns the route into a true air bridge, according to the company itself, providing greater flexibility for passengers.

A key market for seasonality adjustment

The reinforcement of the connection with Madrid not only benefits residents but also encourages the arrival of visitors during the months of lower tourist influx. Iberia Express emphasises that the Balearic Islands are one of its main markets and that the expansion of schedules and frequencies helps to distribute the flow of travellers throughout the year.

Additionally, since April 2025, the airline has offered passengers flying from the Balearic Islands a fare that allows them to change their flight on the same day, bringing forward or delaying the time at no extra cost. This flexibility is especially useful for business travellers or for those who need to adapt their plans on the go.

For the residents of Mallorca, this news represents a tangible improvement in connectivity with the mainland. Residents will be able to plan same-day round trips more easily, and domestic tourists will have more options to visit the island outside of peak season.

The new flights are already available on the Iberia Express website and through usual sales channels. The company recommends booking in advance to take advantage of promotional launch fares.
