The National Police have arrested a man accused of assaulting and robbing two women after a paid sexual encounter in a flat in Palma. The events occurred last Saturday.

The National Police have detained a man in Palma accused of assaulting and robbing two women with whom he had arranged a paid sexual encounter via the internet. The arrest took place last Saturday in a flat in the Balearic capital, where the two victims had received two clients.

According to the police report, during the encounter one of the men expressed his dissatisfaction with the service and reacted violently. Allegedly, he hit one of the women, causing her to fall off the bed and threatened both with further violence.

The situation escalated when he allegedly pushed the other victim out of the flat, leaving her half-naked in the building's landing. Meanwhile, the woman who remained inside was forced, under threats of death, to hand over the money received for the service. The alleged assailant also took the handbag and other belongings of the victims before leaving the place with the other man.

The two women immediately went outside to seek help. A patrol from the Citizen Attention Group (GAC), which was conducting preventive work in the area, found them visibly distressed and scantily dressed, after being alerted by several neighbours who had gathered at the scene.

During the intervention, the officers received a report that the alleged perpetrator might still be hiding in the building. After inspecting a small skylight of the property, they located two men crouched down. After identifying them, the victims recognised one of them as the alleged perpetrator of the assault and robbery.

The suspect was arrested as the alleged author of a crime of robbery with violence and taken to police facilities. The investigation remains open to fully clarify what happened and determine the involvement of the second man in the events.

This incident highlights the vulnerability of individuals engaged in prostitution in private flats, a phenomenon that often operates outside any control. Authorities remind the importance of reporting any situation of abuse or violence.

Neighbours in the area, who witnessed part of the altercation, alerted the police, which was key to the swift location of the suspect. Citizen collaboration was fundamental in this intervention.

The detainee, whose identity has not been disclosed, remains in police custody awaiting judicial proceedings. He is charged with robbery with violence, although it is not ruled out that other charges may be added as the investigation progresses.

The National Police advise anyone who feels they are a victim of a crime to go to police facilities or call 091 for assistance and advice. They also remind that there are specific resources for victims of gender violence and sexual exploitation.

The investigation continues to determine the exact role of the second man who accompanied the detainee and who was also located in the skylight. Authorities do not rule out further arrests in the coming hours.

Although isolated, such incidents generate alarm among the neighbours of the Balearic capital. The National Police have reinforced their presence in the area where the events occurred to ensure safety and prevent similar incidents.

The case has been brought to the attention of the Palma duty court, which will be responsible for instructing the corresponding proceedings. The detainee is expected to make a statement in the coming hours.
