The Nits a Bellver cycle has established itself as one of the major cultural attractions of summer in Palma. By July 31, the programme has gathered 5,346 spectators at the Castell de Bellver during the 18 performances held since June 10, according to data provided by the Palma City Council.
The average occupancy of the venue is nearly 74.38 percent, and 10 of the concerts have sold out. The accumulated revenue amounts to 96,883 euros, a figure that reinforces the municipal commitment to this summer initiative.
The first deputy mayor and councillor for Culture, Javier Bonet, highlighted that these figures "reinforce the Palma City Council's commitment to a diverse, quality cultural offer that is open to all audiences," making the castle one of the reference points for entertainment during the summer months.
The programme continues in August with notable events. This Thursday, starting at 9 PM, the Jazz Palma Festival kicks off with a performance by the Harlem Gospel Travelers, who have also sold out all tickets. On August 11, it will be the turn of the Gala of Mallorcan Dancers, as part of the third edition of the Dance Gala.
The cycle will continue on August 13 with Pep Garau Sextet, and subsequently with Marcel Cranc and the UIB Women’s Choir, as well as Combo Batanga, as part of the Jazz Palma Festival. The closing event will be on August 29 with a performance by the Mallorca Chamber Orchestra, which will perform Gustav Mahler's First Symphony.
This final concert will bring together 80 musicians on the stage of the Castell de Bellver's Arms Courtyard and will conclude a third edition that, in Bonet's words, "helps to reclaim one of the most representative elements of the city's historical heritage as a space dedicated to intensely enjoying culture."
