Palma Local Police has intervened 3,970 products in two operations against illegal street vending and counterfeiting, carried out in the city centre and Platja de Palma.

Palma Local Police has seized a total of 3,970 items in two operations conducted this week against illegal street vending and industrial property crimes. The actions, coordinated among several units of the municipal force, took place on Wednesday and Thursday at various locations in the city.

The first operation, which occurred on Wednesday, August 5, in the area of s’Hort des Rei and Dalt Murada, involved a large deployment of agents from the SETUR Unit, the Administrative Surveillance and Coexistence Unit (UVAC), the Motorised Unit, and personnel from the USEI, ECOP, and UII units. During the operation, 1,210 objects were seized, including magnets, glasses, bags, t-shirts, wallets, water bottles, bracelets, and fans, as well as several transport carts.

Additionally, the agents prepared a report for an alleged industrial property crime against one of the vendors and issued a record for contempt.

The second operation was executed on Thursday afternoon in Platja de Palma, where seven commercial establishments in the area were inspected. In this case, the agents seized 2,760 items distributed in 83 bags, including t-shirts, bags, waist bags, sports kits, sunglasses, hats, and trousers. Seven reports were also prepared for alleged industrial property crimes.

This second operation involved a deployment of 19 agents, including one supervisor, seven members of the SETUR Unit, and eleven trainee agents.

These actions are part of the periodic efforts by Palma Local Police to curb illegal street vending and the marketing of counterfeit products, protect industrial property rights, and ensure fair competition among the establishments in the city.

The operations have also resulted in the processing of various administrative and criminal actions, which are in addition to the material interventions.
