The Palma City Council is working on the 51 ornamental fountains in the city. The next intervention will be in the gardens of Sa Feixina and in Nuredduna.
The Palma City Council has initiated the repair of the ornamental fountain in Rosa Bueno park, a project that includes the installation of a root barrier to protect the infrastructure from future issues caused by vegetation growth. This work complements the recent upgrade of the fountain in Progreso square, whose perimeter has been repaired to ensure its preservation.
Both interventions are part of the maintenance program that the Council is implementing for the 51 ornamental fountains in the city, grouped into 38 sets and spread across all districts. In the coming weeks, work is also planned for the lower circular fountain in the gardens of Sa Feixina and the fountain in Nuredduna.
The network of fountains in Palma includes iconic elements such as those in the Queen's square, the Glorieta, the Steps of the Seu, the gardens of s'Hort del Rei, the Rambla, Spain square, Es Fortí, and the Son Dameto park, among others. With these actions, the City Council aims to preserve urban heritage and maintain the quality of public spaces.
The work in Rosa Bueno is currently focused on repairing the structure and protecting it from roots, a preventive measure to extend the fountain's lifespan. In the case of Progreso square, the intervention has already been completed and the fountain is operational again.
The maintenance of these infrastructures is carried out periodically and will continue in the coming months with new interventions in other areas of the city, as reported by the Council.
