Restaurants in Palma interested in participating in the first edition of Cuines del Món can now register. The culinary route, which will take place from 1 to 15 October, will offer menus at 25 euros and aims to promote cultural diversity.
The first edition of Cuines del Món in Palma is now underway. The Palma City Council, through PalmaActiva, has opened the registration period for restaurants in the city to join this culinary route that will be held from 1 to 15 October 2026. The initiative, which has the collaboration of the areas of Catering and Interculturality, aims to turn the Balearic capital into a showcase of world cuisines.
How to participate and what to offer
Interested establishments must register through the website cuinesdelmon.es, where they will find the rules and conditions. Participation is free, but it will be subject to a selection process to ensure quality. Around 50 restaurants are expected to participate, each offering a special menu at a fixed price of 25 euros.
The call is aimed at restaurants in Palma that represent cuisines from different countries. The goal is for residents and tourists to travel the world without leaving the city, discovering flavours from places like China, Peru, Ecuador, India, or Thailand. The route also aims to de-seasonalise the tourist offer and give visibility to less frequented neighbourhoods.
Municipal support and ambassadors
This Tuesday, the City Council met with a group of restaurateurs linked to Restauración CAEB, who will act as ambassadors for the route. The meeting, held at the PalmaActiva headquarters, included the councillor for Commerce, Catering, and Self-Employed, Lupe Ferrer; the general director of Economy and Commerce, Toni Fuster; and the managing director of PalmaActiva, Carmen Aguiló Buades.
Also present were the president of the Business Federation of Catering of the Balearic Islands, Alfonso Robledo, and the manager of Mallorca CAEB Catering, Tomeu Mas. Among the restaurateurs present were Ye Shengian (Xin Xin, Chinese cuisine), Pedro Tello (Inti Wasi, Peruvian), Bayron Fuertes (La Casa del Sabor, Ecuadorian), Jaspal Singh and Chandani Patel (Krishna Curry Bar, Indian) and Cristian Deola (Mao Thai, Thai).
Lupe Ferrer highlighted that “the City Council collaborates so that everyone can learn about different cultures through gastronomy.” She added that this is “the first project with this initiative and we are convinced it will allow for a better understanding of the cultural diversity of our city.”
A route for everyone
Cuines del Món is not only an opportunity for restaurateurs but also for the people of Palma. They will be able to taste dishes from different parts of the world at an affordable price and, in the process, support small businesses that often go unnoticed. The route aims to be a bridge between cultures through the table, in an increasingly multicultural city.
For those interested, registration is now open. Selected restaurants will be announced soon. In the meantime, diners can start whetting their appetites: from 1 to 15 October, Palma will be a global culinary map.
