The National Police reconstructs the raid on a drug den in Palma: the group arrived from abroad, armed with assault submachine guns and left a trail of blood.
The Robbery Group and the Drug and Organised Crime Unit (Udyco) of the National Police have managed to reconstruct in detail the violent raid carried out in the early hours of last Saturday in a building in Palma. Investigations suggest that the command specifically arrived from abroad with a single objective: to execute a drug 'robbery' from an organisation that used the flat as a warehouse.
According to sources close to the investigation, the assailants acted with their faces covered by monkey masks and carried state-of-the-art assault submachine guns, as well as pistols. An arsenal that surprised the investigators themselves due to its intimidating capacity and the level of violence displayed during the attack.
The first attack occurred in the building's lift, where they surprised one of the guards of the drug den. They ambushed him and gave him a brutal beating, hitting him repeatedly on the head until he was forced, under threats with the weapons, to open the flat. The man suffered various injuries, particularly to the head, as a result of the assault.
“There was blood everywhere. It was a slaughter,” recounted a neighbour who heard the screams and observed the aftermath of the raid just minutes later. The violence of the command caused moments of genuine panic among the residents, several of whom immediately alerted emergency services upon hearing banging, running, and loud arguments.
Once inside the flat, the group also assaulted the woman who was in the apartment while demanding the delivery of all the stored drugs. Investigators maintain that they managed to seize a significant haul, allegedly composed of kilos and kilos of drugs, the exact amount of which has yet to be quantified as the volume present before the raid is unknown.
The rapid police intervention, following calls from neighbours, forced the command to hastily abandon the building. This escape prevented them from thoroughly searching the entire flat, and in the subsequent inspection, officers located nearly six kilos of drugs hidden in an extremely well-camouflaged secret compartment, which went unnoticed by the assailants.
Investigators believe that the raid corresponds to a drug 'robbery', a criminal modality common among organisations dedicated to drug trafficking that involves stealing drug shipments from other criminal groups. The investigation remains open to identify all members of the command, clarify their origin, and determine their links with the organisation that used the property as a storage and distribution point. Officers do not rule out further arrests as investigations progress and evidence collected at the scene of the raid is analysed.
