Three men have been arrested by the National Police after robbing a gaming hall at gunpoint on Aragó street in Palma. The employee struggled with the assailants and discovered that the weapon was fake.

The National Police have arrested three Spanish men accused of robbing a gaming hall at gunpoint in Palma. The events occurred in the early hours of the morning when two individuals burst into the establishment with their faces covered and threatened the employee with a gun that, as was later discovered, was fake.

The incident took place on Aragó street, a central road in the Balearic capital, around 4:45 in the morning. The assailants, who were wearing a mask and a hood, demanded that the worker hand over all the money. The employee, who was left in shock, was forced to step aside while one of them manipulated the cash register.

Struggle and discovery of the fake weapon

One of the robbers accessed the inside of the counter and ripped the cash register away, taking the money it contained. At that moment, the employee reacted and struggled with the one carrying the gun. During the struggle, the cash register fell to the ground and coins scattered across the establishment.

In an act of bravery, the worker managed to remove the mask from one of the thieves and checked that the gun he was carrying was fake. The two assailants then fled on foot, getting into a vehicle that was waiting outside, driven by a third accomplice.

The employee's quick reaction not only prevented a worse outcome but also provided the police with key clues to identify the criminals. According to sources from the investigation, the struggle allowed the worker to see the face of one of the robbers, which facilitated his subsequent identification.

Investigation and arrests in Palma and Marratxí

The National Police's Robbery Group took charge of the investigation and, after numerous efforts, managed to identify the three individuals involved. Two of them were the ones who entered the establishment, while the third acted as the driver and logistics, even exchanging clothes with one of his accomplices before the robbery.

Once identified, the police set up a search operation. Two of the accused were arrested yesterday in Palma. One of them tried to flee in the Levante Industrial Estate and took refuge in a building, which required a deployment until he was located on a landing. The third suspect was arrested this morning in Marratxí, after tracking several family homes.

The three detainees have been placed at the disposal of the judiciary accused of robbery with violence and intimidation. The National Police has highlighted the citizen collaboration and the speed in identifying the suspects, which prevented them from disposing of the loot.

For the residents of Palma, this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety in establishments open to the public during the early hours. The National Police recommends that shopkeepers take extra precautions and, in the event of any incident, do not confront the criminals and immediately call 091.
