The Manacor City Tournament – Memorial Miquel Jaume will see Illes Balears Palma Futsal face Sporting CP on August 14, with free entry.

Next Friday, August 14, the Polideportivo Miquel Àngel Nadal in Manacor will be the venue for the first pre-season match of Illes Balears Palma Futsal, which will take on Sporting CP starting at 21:00. The match is part of the Manacor City Tournament – Memorial Miquel Jaume ConectaBalear – THB Hotels, presented this Monday in the municipality.

The sporting event, organised with the collaboration of the Manacor Town Hall, will have free entry until capacity is reached. The match is expected to bring together two of the great references in world futsal, in a clash that revisits the final of the UEFA Futsal Champions League.

The Balearic team, led by Antonio Vadillo, arrives at this commitment as part of its preparation for the new season, which will include the Supercopa de España. For Manacor, the match has a special significance, as the club was born in this city and the tournament pays tribute to its founder, Miquel Jaume.

Present at the launch were the mayor of Manacor, Miquel Oliver; the sports delegate, Llorenç Mesquida; the president of Palma Futsal, Jose Tirado; the CEO of ConectaBalear, Joan Miquel Duran, and the commercial director of THB Hotels, Juan Carlos Miralles. They all agreed on the importance of hosting an event of this level.

Mesquida emphasised the pride it brings to the city to welcome Palma Futsal:

“Everything started here and, surely, we bring what is currently the best futsal match in the world; it is a pride for us.”
For his part, Oliver thanked the club for not forgetting its origins:
“We appreciate that you never forget your origins, and in this sense, we must also remember Miquel Jaume, a person very committed to futsal and to Manacor.”

The Town Hall invites all citizens and futsal fans in Mallorca to attend the Polideportivo Miquel Àngel Nadal on August 14 at 21:00 to enjoy a high-level match between two major players in world futsal.
