The Andratx Town Council has allocated 85,000 euros in grants to three sports entities in the municipality that compete in national leagues outside the Balearic Islands. The aid has been distributed among CE Andratx, CB Andratx, and Club Gimnàstica Rítmica Es Vinyet.

The Andratx Town Hall has made the payment of 85,000 euros in grants aimed at the sports clubs in the municipality that participate in official national competitions outside the Balearic Islands during the 2025-2026 season. The measure aims to alleviate the costs of travel, accommodation, and logistics that these entities incur while representing the municipality outside the archipelago.

Distribution of the aid

The aid has been distributed among three clubs. The Club Esportiu Andratx has received the largest amount, 48,043.48 euros, followed by Club Baloncesto Andratx, with 29,565.21 euros, and Club Gimnàstica Rítmica Es Vinyet, with 7,391.30 euros. These funds are intended to cover expenses arising from their participation in national leagues.

The Mayor of Andratx, Estefanía Gonzalvo, along with the Sports Councillor, Lluís Toni Sieiro, and representatives from the three entities, participated in an event at the Palau d'Esports de Andratx to formalise the delivery. Gonzalvo highlighted that "sport is an investment in the present and the future" and that this aid is a recognition of the work of athletes, coaches, and families.

Commitment to local sport

The Town Hall thus reaffirms its support for grassroots sports and the clubs that, season after season, carry the name of Andratx throughout Spain. The grant covers part of the costs of travel and accommodation, a considerable financial effort for entities competing at a national level.

For the residents of Andratx, this financial boost means their teams can continue competing without travel costs hindering their performance. The CE Andratx, for example, competes in regional categories with aspirations for promotion, and this funding allows them to manage trips to the mainland more effectively.

The local gymnast competing with Club Es Vinyet also benefits, as national tournaments require frequent travel. Without this aid, many families would have to bear the costs themselves, which would limit participation.

A recurring gesture

This is not the first time that the Town Council has supported its clubs. In previous seasons, similar grants had already been awarded, although the amount has been progressively increasing. This year, the total amount is 10% higher than last year's, according to municipal sources.

Mayor Gonzalvo insisted that "this aid is a recognition of the work carried out by athletes, coaches, boards, and families, whose commitment is essential for the development of sport in our municipality." A message that the clubs appreciate, as it allows them to plan the season with greater stability.

The beneficiary clubs have already confirmed that they will allocate the funds to cover expenses for upcoming trips. The CE Andratx, for example, plans to travel to the mainland in the coming weeks to play several league matches.
