The municipal pools of Es Vinyet hosted a new edition of Mulla't per l'Esclerosi Múltiple this Sunday, with significant citizen participation and solidarity activities.

The municipal pools of Es Vinyet, in Andratx, became the epicentre of solidarity this Sunday. The Mulla't per l'Esclerosi Múltiple event brought together hundreds of locals and visitors to support those affected by this neurodegenerative disease and raise funds for research.

From the early hours of the morning, the venue recorded a steady influx. The traditional collective dip was the central act, but there were also parallel activities and a sales point for promotional products such as t-shirts and towels, the proceeds of which are entirely allocated to care programs and scientific studies.

Institutional Commitment and Citizen Participation

The event was attended by the first deputy mayor of Andratx, Joan Forteza, along with other municipal councillors. Also present was the PP deputy in the Balearic Parliament, Anabel Curtó, who wanted to show her support for the initiative.

Forteza highlighted during the event that "Mulla't is much more than a solidarity day; it is a demonstration of the commitment of the people of Andratx to those living with multiple sclerosis. From the Ajuntament, we will continue to support all initiatives that contribute to raising awareness of this disease and promoting research."

The involvement of the community was key to the success of the event. Many attendees came with their families, turning the gathering into a festive and advocacy atmosphere in equal measure.

A Cause that Mobilises All of the Balearic Islands

Mulla't is a campaign that mobilises thousands of people in the Balearic Islands each year. In Andratx, this year's edition achieved a remarkable response, with a steady stream of participants that did not cease until the event closed at 5:00 PM.

Behind the organisation is the association of affected individuals, which set up the solidarity sales point and energised the activities. The funds raised are aimed at improving the quality of life for patients and financing research lines against multiple sclerosis, a disease that affects more than 50,000 people in Spain.

The day also served to raise awareness about the importance of early diagnosis and support for the sick. For the people of Andratx, Mulla't has become an unmissable date in the municipality's solidarity calendar.

Those who could not attend are still able to contribute through the designated donation line set up by the association. The next event will be next year, but Andratx's commitment to the cause remains strong throughout the year.
